ABOUT ME.

KIRSTY GIBSON

Irish dancer and choreographer Kirsty Gibson, with her Hip Hop & Contemporary dance styles, brings a wide palette of experiences to her portfolio. Kirsty has performed with the company MT4YOUTH where West End choreographers and directors were involved. Kirsty has also taken part in a range of voluntary work. One such example would be when she and other artists performed in Stormont for the organisation, Donation of Heart Foundation. This was an event to raise awareness and money for the organisation. Additionally, She has choreographed productions for St Louise’s Comprehensive Collage & Urban Funk Dance Crew, in West Belfast. With her bachelor’s degree in Dance at De Monfort University in Leicester, she has undertook different dance genres within her studies such as; Ballet, Contemporary, African dance and mixed fusion dance. Kirsty completed a solo at the university which gained a 1st and it was selected for the university dance festival that many students applied for and only four were chosen.

A noteworthy experience, during her university studies, was her placement opportunity with the organisation Age UK teaching dance to older people. Kirsty has gained a range of titled awards through her years of dancing such as; ‘Dancer of the year’, ‘Best Overall Dancer’ amongst many others. Born in the city of Belfast. Started dancing at age 8. Started teaching at sixteen. She has always had a passion for dancing & teaching as her portfolio shows. Her goal is to become a dance teacher with no boundaries and to bring the wider community together where dance experience is not required. Her teachings are non-judgemental and fully inclusive of everyone.
